Exhibited in the Tate Britain this year, the work was commissioned to explore the lasting legacy transmitted by German artist. Wantee was the nickname used by Schwitters for his partner, who often liked to offer him a cup of tea ("want tea").
The jury, chaired by the director of Tate Britain, Penelope Curtis, judged his work "unexpectedly touching", praising the "brave and complex combination of images and objects in a deeply engaging context."
