illycaffè, partner of UNIDEE – University of Ideas since 2000, the year of the first edition, also supported the project this year asking the creatives of the Cittadellarte residence to interpret the laminated steel Illy coffee tin. The proposals presented were exhibited inside the illycaffè in Artisima 16, the International Contemporary Art Fair running in Turin from the 6-8 November.

The works represent the ways in which the UNIDEE artists interpreted the coffee tin, exploring the rapport between art and society keeping firmly the various fundamentals of innovation regarding the environment. The work that received the highest praise was by the polish artist Julia Staniszewska, who presented a collection of eight different coloured tins, decorated with eight letters which when placed side by side spell out the word T R A N S F O R M. The artist then proposed to use the tins to construct new words, by combining the letters in different ways.
