Arte al Centro 2021
Exhibitions, performances, talks and workshops at the twenty-third edition of the review in Cittadellarte - Fondazione Pistoletto

Art at the Centre 2021
of a responsible social transformation

Arte al Centro – Art at the Centre is a review, now in its twenty-third edition this year, of exhibitions, meetings and seminars that describe artistic practices of transformation of the social contexts in which they develop, created by Cittadellarte and by its international network, consolidated over the years.
The review includes new exhibitions intended as activity devices open to the collaboration of different subjects as well as to the active fruition use by visitors.
Art at the Centre joins this year with Città Arcipelago – creatività e sostenibilità in Festival (www.cittarcipelago.it) and puts art at the center of Biella and of the Biellese, declining the Unesco designation on the route that the symbol of the Third Paradise indicates: creativity and responsibility.

More than 100 case studies, subjects active on one or more goals of the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, tell of a vision of the Biella area as an “archipelago of good practices and vitality”, from the textile sector to hospitality and tourism, from the agri-food chain to the management of waste and resources, common goods such as water and energy, from training to mobility. The Biella Città Arcipelago Laboratory and Exhibition is an open space for citizen participation: organizations from every sector are invited to propose themselves to join not only in the exhibition, but also in the program currently being defined that will follow, consisting of thematic meetings, on the various sectors, in collaboration with the various Tables already active in the Biella area, aimed at defining and implementing concrete actions towards “sustainable prosperity”.
The Biella Città Arcipelago Exhibition Laboratory is developed in synergy with Fondazione BIellezza and in conjunction with the local Institutions.

“Una pietra sopra una pietra”
Ho messo una pietra sopra/
ad ogni muro che ho lasciato/
se devo costruire una pietra è il mio passato/
una pietra sopra una pietra/
Ho aperto un varco nel muro/
per guardare il futuro/
il futuro è una pietra da spostare domani/
una pietra sopra una pietra

Ruggero Poi, 2013
“A stone upon a stone”
I put a stone on /
every wall I have left /
if I have to build a stone is my past /
a stone upon a stone /
I have broken through the wall /
to look to the future /
the future is a stone to move tomorrow /
a stone upon a stone
