NATIONAL SPECIALISATION COURSE FOR CULTURAL EDUCATORS

Course objectives
The course is divided in 7 sections:
Education, Art, Economics, Communication, Workshops, Case studies, Alumni.
Meetings with experts are alternated with practical workshops, to reveal the processes that they use to create didactic and educational works.
The course consists of 3 weeks (from 24 January to 11 February) of lectures and workshops, one week of visits (from 14-18 February), two weeks of project work (from 21 February to 4 March) and the presentation of project work (in the week of 7 March).
– lectures: lessons by experts on museum educational programming, which offer different prospectives and methodologies.
– workshops: practical experience of coordination and realisation of didactic interventions.
– visits to organisations which apply best practices within the educational sphere.
– project work: group ideation and development of a project of didactic and cultural collaboration from expert tutors.
– all the projects will be developed to be presented during the final session.
Who it is aimed at
The programme is aimed at whoever wants to acquire operative tools within the field of cultural education and wishes to better understand the various specialisations that are developing in this sector.
Didactic contents
– the rapport between pedagogy and 20th and 21st Century Art
– the educational function of the museum – socially responsible transformation through art
– the theory of learning and perception
– analysis of works of art
– didactic spaces and environments
– organisation of cultural business
– networking and communication of the educational project
– communication and documentation
– ideation, texts, communication and the running of a workshop
Course structure
The course spans 4 weeks and a total of 140 hours (7 hours a day) 30 hours of visits to educational institutes of national relevance and 60 hours dedicated to the elaboration of project work.
The course will take place at Cittadellarte-Fondazione Pistoletto, while the lessons by the Education Dept of Castello di Rivoli, Contemporary Art Museum will take place at the spaces of the Education Dept in Rivoli. The week of 14-18 February will consist of visits to museums and educational institutions, while lodging will remain at Cittadellarte.
The presentation of project work will be at Cittadellarte.
The lessons will run from Monday to Friday from 9.30am -1.00pm and 2.00pm – 4.30pm. Lessons last for 50 minutes
Participation
The course is open to the maximum of 30 participants.

The selection results will be communicated on the 22 December by email to the candidates.
The selected candidates should send €500 (half the total cost) by 30 December 2010 and the final half of the fee at the start of the course by 24 January 2011.
Costs
The specialisation course price is €1000 for each participant.
Price includes: the lectures, the tutoring both of the course and the project work and the workshop materials.
The participants who wish to can lodge in Cittadellarte for an agreed price.
