Laure Prouvost, winner of the fourth edition of the Max Mara Art Prize for Women (further information) in collaboration with the Whitechapel Gallery started her artist-in-residence period in Italy in
One of the most important assets of the Prize is the opportunity to spend six months in Italy, to further explore Italian culture, and to create a project which will be then displayed at the Whitechapel Gallery and Collezione Maramotti, and which will then enter the collection.
Laure Prouvost’s first impressions and feelings with Italy in context, together with its relational, cultural and landscape implications in the multilayered and stimulating city of Rome, can first be seen in the group exhibition "wher you live now" running from 15 to 23 June 2012 within the Fine Arts Programme directed by Jacopo Benci at the British School at Rome, together with five other international artists now in residency (Colin Darke, Nicholas Hatfull, Jessica Kirkpatrick, David Lock and Luke Roberts).
